IJC on Banking & Insurance

Today, Representatives Will Coursey, Wilson Stone, and Jeff Greer heard testimony about the effects of surprise billing and credit card processing fees paid by insurers during the Banking and Insurance Interim Joint Committee. Surprise billing is to protect Kentucky consumers from unexpected medical costs in an emergency or during a planned procedure.

Rep. Jeff Greer discussed the price for air ambulances in rural communities should “be more affordable,” and necessary because “all Kentuckians deserve to be quickly taken to hospital to be given a chance to live.”
